Keyboard review can expose controls that look usable but are difficult to reach or operate without a mouse. Start at the top of a page and move through links and controls in order. Watch whether the current focus is visible and whether the sequence follows a sensible reading path.
A practical approach
Test interactive elements beyond the initial page view. Menus, expandable answers and dialogs need understandable behaviour when opened and closed. Record the exact task that fails rather than simply noting that keyboard support needs improvement.
Your checklist
- Follow the main navigation without using a pointer.
- Check that focused elements are visually identifiable.
- Confirm that opened controls do not trap navigation unexpectedly.
For example
An FAQ should allow someone to reach a question, expand it and continue to the next item. If the control can only be activated by clicking decorative text, the implementation needs review.
